About Me

After college in Ohio, a three month study of painting, drawing and art history in Paris, France made me determined to be an artist. After Paris, I moved to San Francisco. 1998 finds me with two pieces in the collection of the Museu de L’Erotica (Barcelona, Spain). As I’ve gotten older my work has been decidedly more gay. Group shows by Center for Sex and Culture (2013 & 2014) and Queer Cultural Center (2015) have maintained my presence in San Francisco, though I now live in Oakland.  2016 finds me with a solo show at Center for Sex and Culture (Feb.-April) and a June group show at Root Division Gallery, San Francisco - ISO Queer Gods & The Gods Sure Are Queer Vol. 2. Currently I'm working on an art car for Easy Creole Restaurant in Berkeley. A 1964 Mini Austin Healy is being painted with a Deco-Goth scheme - this is the first time I've ever done something like this.

Artist Statement

I am a queer artist; mind you all my art is not necessarily queer.  I ventured into all types of painting, stained glass and sculpture. My true aesthetic is vintage with age and patina which is reflected in my studio and work, however, I also create modern abstracts. I feel that this is an important time to celebrate and cultivate gay art, especially since our people are being killed and rights we gain are constantly threatened. I’ve always felt that erotic art is held to a higher standard as most tend to write it off as porn; I appreciate that challenge. I’ve found that straight and queer audiences alike enjoy what I create.
